Community Rules
Last updated: July 29, 2026
Bazaar works because students trust each other. These rules keep it that way. Breaking them can get your listing removed or your account suspended. They are part of our Terms of Service.
Be a good community member.
- Be honest. List items and services accurately — real photos, true condition, fair descriptions.
- Be respectful. No harassment, hate speech, threats, or discrimination.
- Follow through. Show up when you say you will, communicate clearly, and honor the deals you make.
- Keep it on the level. No scams, fake listings, bait-and-switch, or misleading prices.
Prohibited & restricted items and services.
Do not list:
- Weapons, firearms, ammunition, or explosives.
- Illegal drugs, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia.
- Alcohol, tobacco, vapes, or nicotine products.
- Prescription drugs, medical devices, or supplements making health claims.
- Stolen, counterfeit, or recalled goods, or anything you don't have the right to sell.
- Hazardous materials or anything unsafe to transfer.
- Adult or sexually explicit content or services.
- Live animals.
- Academic-integrity violations — no paid exam-taking, ghostwriting of essays or assignments, or any service that violates the University of Michigan's academic policies.
- Anything else illegal under local, state, or federal law, or that violates these rules.
Some categories may be allowed with care (e.g., event tickets at face value). When in doubt, don't — or ask us first.
Selling tickets.Only list tickets you own and will transfer in full to the buyer. Never keep a copy, duplicate, resell, or reuse a ticket after selling it — doing so is a scam and will get you banned. Buyers: confirm the ticket has transferred to your own account before revealing the handoff code, since Bazaar can't verify a ticket's authenticity and the code reveal is final.
How moderation works.
New and edited listings are reviewed before they go live. Anyone can report a listing, profile, or message they think breaks the rules. We review reports and may remove content, reject listings (with a reason), or suspend accounts. You can block another user if you don't want to interact with them; blocks are reviewed by our team.
Consequences.
Depending on severity, breaking these rules can lead to listing removal, loss of selling privileges, or account suspension or termination.
Reporting.
Use the report button on any listing, profile, or conversation, or email support@mycampusbazaar.com.
